Fall suits them

Is it just our biased eyes, or does fall not truly suit these two girls? No more words here - just leaves and smiles and five-year-old enjoyment.

Halloween 2012

This is the first year in a long time that we haven't had our annual pumpkin-carving party. We missed it, but we did have a nice time focusing on carving for just the four of us!
Crazy Daddy.

A bat, a smiley face, an eyeball and a smiley face.
We tried something new this year and did reverse trick-or-treating on the weekend before Halloween.  We baked up some treats, put them in bags, and then went around the neighborhood giving them out to neighbors.  It felt like just the right note to hit before they went out to grab candy a few nights from then!

For dressing up on Halloween this year both girls decided that they wanted to be Spiderman - and though they had outfits we've made for playing Spiderman before the costumes at Costco really caught their eye. So, here are our decked out girls in their Halloween newest:
We trick-or-treated with our sweet friend Annie, who didn't mind being surrounded by friendly superheros.
After trick-or-treating for a little while we headed back home and had a fire in our fire pit.  It was wonderful having the neighbors all drop by to hang out, get candy, and compare outfits.  It was so fun, in fact, that when we ran out of candy both girls dug into their own stashes and gave it back out to the neighborhood kids so the night could be extended!

A few nights later we attended our town's Day of the Dead parade.  We've always wanted to go, but this was the first night we made it.  It was great!!

We ended the night with frozen yogurt and a walk through a not-too-cold Montana night.

Visit to Miles City

We're not sure what the trouble has been with the blog - we have 11 posts ready to go, but for the past few months Blogger has been telling us that we are over our data limit and that we have to pay each month to pay more. We've been working to figure out what to do when today Blogger suddenly allowed us to post again! If this luck holds get ready for a catch-up! This post is dedicated to the girls' birthmom, Ashley, and to her kids and her mom, LeAnne. We were lucky enough to get to spend time with them out in Miles City this October and we had a fantastic time. They were so generous, and all the kids got along really well. The girls were especially excited to meet new baby Baeleigh, and it was wonderful to see Dezi.  Clara, Elena and Gabe had so much fun playing together!

It was a special treat that Ashley arranged for her friend Starly to meet us at the fairgrounds with her horse.  Elena and Clara LOVED getting to have some horseback riding lessons, and it was awesome to watch Starly ride around, too.
